An excellent opportunity for an innovative, commercially astute, collaborative senior property services manager to lead and provide strategic leadership for the Asset Management, Building Surveying and Facilities Management services function, and work together to set and advance the direction of our well-performing, ambitious local authority.
Reigate & Banstead Borough Council is an ambitious, commercially-driven, well-performing authority, looking to build on its strengths as it works towards achieving financial self-sufficiency. The Council has a diverse portfolio of over 450 individual land and building assets. The operational portfolio comprises of our Town Hall offices, a large depot, three day centres, three leisure centres, a theatre and over 20 car parks, as well as parks, open spaces and numerous other miscellaneous land and buildings. Our non-operational investment portfolio comprises around 40 assets, including office, retail, industrial and agricultural property, and produced an income of £3.6 million in the 2018-19 financial year. As at 31st March 2019 the land and buildings portfolio was valued at £202 million for accounting purposes of which £95 million was investment property.
You will lead and manage our existing portfolio and a small team; that includes Asset Managers, Building Surveyors and Facilities. You will have the experience to quickly do a skills and resource audit in order to link the operational delivery to that required of the service corporately.
To be successful in this position you will have a demonstrable track record of managing, leading, motivating and inspiring a similar team to success in the delivery of services and/or projects. As part of the interview process you will be assessed on how you embody the Council’s core values and behaviours.
You should be experienced and confident working in partnership with senior decision-makers with demonstrable success of building good relationships.
