Seymour John are working in partnership with a leading manufacturing company based in Bridgnorth, Shropshire and they seek to recruit an IT Support Engineer to report directly into the IT Manager. In this role your duties will include providing initial technical support to telephone and email requests from IT users, enforcing and auditing the application of the IT Policy, maintaining, and supporting the existing IT and telecom infrastructure, managing and overseeing printer toner usage and basic server administration.

• Perform duties assigned by and in compliance with the Quality Management Systems.
• Provide initial technical support to telephone requests and emails from IT users.
• Ensure that calls for support are dealt with promptly and appropriately.
• Log support calls and document their outcome.
• Escalate support requests to the appropriate member of the IT team.
• Provide a professional, courteous and rapid response to individual users.
• Enforce and audit the application of the IT Policy.
• Maintain and support existing IT and Telecom infrastructure (both hardware & software).
• Maintain company communication links (such as data transfer, email & telecoms).
• Assist in the review of systems and current technology for continuous improvement purposes.
• Manage and oversee printer toner usage.
• New user setup including permissions.
• Basic server administration i.e. user accounts and restarting services.
• Provide cover for daily system monitoring and backup operations
• Provide cover and assist with repair and recover from server failures.

To be considered for this role you will have a recognised formal IT qualification or demonstrable experience in relevant fields along with a good understanding of MS operating systems including Windows XP/7.  In addition to possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the successful candidate will also have a good understanding of networks including TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.  They should also be a confident user of, and able to provide advice and support on, Microsoft Office products.  Experience of using Active Directory is desirable.
