Delivery Manager (Technology Solution Delivery) | Birmingham / Flexible working | £45,000
Seymour John are recruiting for a Delivery Manager on behalf of large Public Sector organisation based in Birmingham. This organisation is going through an exciting change programme following a recent merger and have a number of new opportunities within their IT team.
Reporting to the Assistant Technology Director you will work closely with Solution Developers, Business Change teams, Change advisory board and the Business Applications team. You will be responsible for overseeing effective delivery of solution development projects, acting as the gatekeeper for solution quality, monitoring and auditing the portfolio; ensuring that delivery processes are fit for purpose and adhered to; and effecting a smooth transition in day-to-day support.
The successful candidate will coach and support the Product delivery teams in adherence to the project delivery framework, making sure they have access to the most appropriate agile and lean tools / techniques. You will act as a point of escalation for the test team and manage project risks with stakeholders. You will coordinate the overall technology solution delivery roadmap and proactively manage dependencies, overcoming obstacles. You will ensure all products are built to an appropriate level of quality. The Delivery Manager will monitor associate budget spend.
Skills and experience:
The successful candidate will hold a Service Management Qualification – ITIL / ISEB / ISTQB, you will also be Price 2 / Agile PM Certified and have at least two years’ experience as a Delivery Manager or equivalent. The Delivery Manager will have Project Management experience, ideally in Agile methodologies. You will have prior experience conducting automated and non-automated testing, using tools, techniques and data. You will have previous experience managing solution releases, including training and rollout activities.
The successful candidate will have experience in the use of key management processes (CAB) and proven experience in problem management.
You will be an expert problem solver with the ability to motivate team members. You will be a well-rounded communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences. You’ll have a broad technical understanding.
