A fabulous opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a reputable business to work as part of their busy and demanding finance department

The Company

Seymour John are delighted to be exclusively working in partnership with an expanding business to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to support the day to day running of the accounts function.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the main duties to include:

Purchase Ledger

• Record purchase invoices, electronically, on a daily basis reconciling to POs and invoices
• Reconcile purchase ledger balances to supplier statements
• Raise supplier payments following authorisation from management
• Proactive liaison with internal staff/suppliers to resolve queries and obtain further information

Sales Ledger

• Credit Control of sales ledger, effective monitoring and proactive approach to chasing debts
• Aged debt reporting
• Allocation of cash receipts and payments for the company’s bank accounts ensuring the cash books are kept up to date on a daily basis

Accounts and Reporting

• Production of monthly bank reconciliations
• Assistance with company VAT returns
• Participate in quarterly and year end reporting where necessary
• Production of standard reports and assist with company audits
• Assist in ensuring all accounts related areas are running smoothly through the provision of administrative support

Personal Profile

We are looking for a candidate with previous experience of working within the manufacturing or distribution sector. Preferably AAT qualified or working towards your AAT qualification with a minimum of 3 years practical experience of working in a similar role. Ideally you will have experience of working with multiple foreign currencies.  You will possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the business internally and externally.
